Request a free annual credit report

The three nationwide credit reporting companies, namely, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, is required by the Federal Trade Commission of the United States to offer free credit reports to consumers once every 12 months. Consumers can visit AnnualCreditReport.com, the only authorized source to obtain their report by providing their personal information. After getting their credit report, consumers will be able to view their latest and accurate credit information which is very important in their applications for credit, insurance, employment, and home renting. Also they can monitor their credit and spot identity theft.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was founded in 1914 to prevent unfair competition methods and to protect consumers. Operated by the Bureaus of Consumer Protection, Competition and Economics, it is the only federal agency which focuses on both consumer protection and competition jurisdiction. FTC does many things such as sharing its expertise with federal and state legislatures, government agencies, developing policy and research tools, creating effective consumer and business educational programs, and so on.
