Use MapQuest to Find Nearby Cheap Gas Easily and Quickly

MapQuest, America’s most popular free online web mapping service, offers a service to its users that allows them to quickly and conveniently locate the cheapest gas stations in their area. All a user needs to do is go to the MapQuest website, enter his or her location, and then look through the search results to find the nearest and cheapest gas around. Once a good gas station is found, a user can then get directions to that gas station.

Gas prices vary widely from gas station to gas station and from location to location. Some cities and states charge outrageous prices and some have prices that are quite reasonable. By using MapQuest’s nearby cheap gas search function, you can find the best prices for gas quickly and then get simple, reliable directions to that gas station. Best of all, MapQuest’s service is absolutely free!

Originally founded in 1967 as a cartography company under a different name, MapQuest began developing maps with computers in the 1980s. By the time that the internet revolution came around in the 1990s, MapQuest was able to enter the market early with a free service that allowed people to instantly get directions to any destination in the United States. MapQuest was bought out by America Online, Inc. in 2000.
